Spinach is nutrient-rich vegetable. Palak has high amounts of carotenoids, vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid, iron, and calcium. We can introduce Palak to Babies in various food like Palak Pasta.
Darker and Large spinach leaves have a more bitter flavor so avoid them and choose Baby spinach for BLW recipes. Baby spinach leaves are tender and slightly sweet and their stems have a bitter or metallic flavor. So, use only leaves for this recipe.
Sweet Potato are quite sweet and fairly firm inside. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fibre, magnesium, potassium and contains an array of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, selenium, and they're a good source of most of our B vitamins and vitamin C.
Palak Sweet Potato Ragi Roti can be offered to your babies if they are ready for the solid food. To know whether the Baby is ready for Solid foods read this blog on BLW-how to be prepared before your child turns 6 months.
How to Serve Mixed Vegetable Ragi Roti for Babies for Baby Led Weaning?
You can cut the Mixed Vegetable Ragi Roti into 3 strips and place it front of the baby on their highchair tray to pick up and eat. Resist the urge to correct their hold or make it easier unless they struggle and are unable to pick it up even after 30sec-1min. I've noticed as long as we stay calm and don't interfere, babies will figure out the best way to eat on their own
Serving suggestion: Dip with Hung curd or Onion Tomato Chutney.
