Black Eyed Peas for Babies

Servings: 2

Description

Black eyed peas are extremely nutritious being rich in both fibre and protein. They are a great source of energy. I actually didn't know much about these until I started researching about nutritious foods that I can start giving S. It's extremely easy to modify for serving babies.

Our experience Mashed Lobia in BLW :

We introduced this to S when he was 6.5 months old. He wasn't too keen with the texture initially and had only a couple of bites. Planning to reintroduce it in a couple of weeks.

How to serve babies at 6-9M stage

Since black-eyed peas are quite small, they would pose a choking hazard if offered whole. They would need to be steamed and mashed well to serve. You can offer it mashed on preloaded spoons or let your baby hand scoop it. Alternatively, you could spread it over a different finger food as well.
