Ragi porridge helps in overall development of babies. It help in weight gain, strengthens the bones and teeth. Ragi malt porridge is a healthy porridge prepared with sprouted Ragi powder. It can be prepared in less time. 

Can Ragi Porridge be given daily to Babies?
Ragi is healthy option and many pediatrician suggest Ragi Kanji, but can be given once daily in moderate amounts.
But, in Baby Led Weaning, offer various food taste and texture for the babies. Baby would love Ragi porridge and also other BLW recipe foods

Ragi Malt Porridge for Babies
  • 1.5 tsp Ragi Malt Powder
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 3 drop Ghee
How to make Ragi Porridge for Babies

  1. BLW Ragi Malt Porridge for Babies

    Mix the Ragi Malt Powder in water thoroughly to avoid any lumps forming.

    If Ragi Malt powder is not available, you can use store-bought sprouted ragi powder. However the consistency and the taste would not be as good as making it with malt powder.
  2. Place it on the stove on a low flame and slowly bring to boil while continuously stirring. You'll notice a change in colour and texture. If required add some water little by little if you feel it's getting very thick very fast.

  3. When done, you'll notice a shine in the colour and a thick texture with a nice aroma. Once it gets to the consistency you like, add few drops of ghee to it and switch off the flame.

  4. Serve once cool.

Note

If following traditional weaning, or if bottle fed, you can mix this with breastmilk/ formula once it's cooled down.
