Onion tomato chutney is served with Idli or Dosa to expose Babies to different tastes. The tangy chutney is made from onions, tomatoes, and some spices for Baby Led Weaning (BLW) Chutney Recipes. Babies enjoy the taste and bright colour. Babies reach out for the food to grab and eat.
Heat a pan. Add 1/2 tsp oil and roast Urad dal to a golden brown Colour. Remove and keep aside.
Add 1/2 tsp oil to pan and sauté onion till it turns translucent. Add tomatoes and sauté nicely till well cooked.
Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Grind the onion tomato mixture along with roasted Urad dal to a fine paste without adding any water.
For adult variation, add salt and Tadka with sputtered mustard and whole red chilli.
