For babies (6M+) you can cut into long strips that they can pick off their high chair and eat. You can smear any dip/chutney on the pieces before offering.
Wash the yellow split moong dal and raw rice thoroughly. Soak together for 3 hours.
Drain the water. Add the whole jeera and freshly grated coconut to this mixture.
Grind the mixture to a fine paste (slightly thick batter) by adding water as needed
Note: You can add the coriander leaves at this point and grind it with the other ingredients (optional)
Add the chopped coriander to the ground paste (if not added while grinding paste) and mix well.
Heat the Dosa Tava. Add few drops of cold pressed oil and smear well.
Pour the batter thickly. Do not spread it thin so that baby will be able to hold on easily.
Add little butter/ghee/cold pressed oil to the sides while cooking.
Flip and cook well on both sides.
Moong Dal Dosa is Ready.
You may serve this with coconut chutney/coriander chutney/tomato chutney/idli podi made for babies/homemade curd.
Add little salt and pepper powder and Hing as required
Add a pinch of whole jeera and finely chopped onion.
You can add some water to the batter for a slightly thinner consistency to make thin crispy Dosas.
